EII has introduced an innovative way for mailers to automate processing Certified/Accountable Mail. When you need to track your mail - either by proof of delivery or by signature - EZ Confirm offers considerable savings of both time and money. EZ-Confirm's online application streamlines the entire mailing process, enabling reduced overhead and enhanced tracking capabilities on all Accountable Mail. With EZ-Confirm, mailers process all of their Accountable Mail from their desktop. All hand addressing of postal forms is eliminated as the entire front landscape of the Accountable mail piece is generated online with Address Standardization and ZIP+4 assignment. No more time-consuming green cards to fill out and no more waiting for days or weeks to get them returned. Real-time delivery event information is also accessed online.
Tracking features include complete report generation of all transactions by mailing date and delivery date, with a delivery status for any non- or delayed deliveries. The auto-signature feature allows printer output of each signature on Postal Service letterhead at a predetermined time daily. Another valuable feature offers delivery statistics, which plot problem delivery areas.

National Assn. of Presort Mailers (NAPM) Winter Meeting Ft. Myers, FL February 7-9, 2008
Engineering Innovation Inc. will be making a presentation at the NAPM Winter Meeting on the subject of sorting First Class Flats for Automation discounts using the bundle-based preparation method. This method, which has a qualification requirement of only ten pieces (vs. 90 pieces for the alternative tray-based method) enables mailers to maximize workshare discounts. Subjects discussed will include: how small and large mailers alike can sort First Class Flats efficiently and profitably; the challenges to sorting First Class Flats and how these challenges can be successfully overcome; benefits of using a Manifest Mailing System (MMS) for mixed weight flats, specifics on Postal Service sorting and packaging procedures; and updates on IMB and how that affects sorting flats. LAFAYETTE, IN (December 12, 2007) – Engineering Innovation announced today the release of Dynamic Sort, an automated First Class mail preparation technique which finalizes the mailing in parallel with running a single pass on their EZ Flats system. The MLOCR-based EZ Flats solution, which was introduced at the National Postal Forum this past spring, produces a bundle-based automated First Class mailing at only a fraction of the cost of traditional flats sorting machines.
The Dynamic Sort concept starts with the recognition that there are significant differences between sorting letters and sorting flats. With traditional sorting machines designed to process flats, for example, costs go up even as throughput goes down when compared to letter processing. Meanwhile the number of sorting bins and secondary passes becomes unacceptable for bundle-based preparation.
EZ Flats is a manifest mailing system which enables mixed-weight flats to be mailed using a permit. The system produces a mailing label featuring the permit indicia along with the 11-digit barcode and ten other pieces of information to expedite sorting for automation discounts.
EZ Flats Dynamic Sort features automated pockets, an automated label applicator and a software-based, patent-pending sorting methodology for the most cost-efficient solution for processing First Class Flats. The concept combines automation with simple tasks that people can do more efficiently than technology. With the bundle-based preparation method for sorting First Class flats for automation discounts, only ten mail pieces are required to achieve discount levels, versus the 90 piece minimum for the tray based preparation. Dynamic Sort identifies the tenth piece as it is read by the OCR, and then dynamically reassigns its routing designation.
