Two people with beards are working in a workshop. One is pointing at a computer screen on a machine, while the other stands behind him. Shelving with boxes is visible in the background. They wear glasses and casual dark t-shirts.

Intern Testimonials

Testimonial

I enjoyed that my internship was very flexible. While I was assigned to specific projects at the start of my internship, I was given the freedom to explore different paths and determine what I wanted a project to be. I was encouraged by both my manager and mentor to explore what work I wanted to do at the company and to create my own schedule. Additionally, I very flexible work hours that allowed me to match my school workload and I was able to work from home as I needed to.  Much of my work revolved around creating and updating documentation for EII products, however I wasn’t just limited to documentation. I also worked on developing training material and learning new software for documentation creation.

Before becoming a full-time member at EII, I worked here as an Associate Firmware Engineer. During my internship, I was given a lot of experimental projects. My favorite part was how much freedom I had on how I could approach problems. In less than a year, I feel like I learned more than all four years of college. My projects are now being continued as a full-time worker, and with further development It will be deployed to our clients.

Mark Myers - Assoc. Firmware Engineer

I was given projects and a lot of independence, and my work over the summer substantially improved my existing skillsets in programming and analysis while also contributing to the company.  My projects informed the company’s decision-making process on a potential OCR solution provider, supplied technical information required to update a product user manual, and provided customer-specific testing information that helped the sales department sell a product.

At EII, I was able to gain valuable hands-on experience. Every day I was able to work on a project that not only I cared about, but the company was invested in as well. It was amazing to know that the work I was doing was not just busywork, but something that the company wanted to implement.

Reagan Vernengo - Assoc. Mechanical Engineer

During my internship, I really liked the multiple disciplines I had to operate in to do certain parts of my project (i.e. software, electrical, cybersecurity, machining). One of the projects I worked on this summer will allow the company to scale up a product and allow more flexible usage from customers.

Konnor Kinnaman - Assoc. Electrical Engineer
